The ability to turn a tap and be graced with instant boiling water for a fresh cuppa is becoming a popular investment within homes and workplaces across the UK. There are many varieties of systems that supply such a service and some even have the added bonus of instant chilled water too.
Why bother?
As an avid coffee drinker who works with colleagues who drink more tea than they really should, an instant hot water tap is a dream come true. We always need to make at least 5 cups at once and before we tried our first hot water tap we didn’t realise how much time we were wasting waiting for that kettle to boil. Furthermore, and most importantly, the fight to not be the one to make the drinks for everyone was a thing of the past!
We think that even if you want to install one in your home it would be worth the investment. In fact, we think the home would actually take more advantage of the luxury of instant hot water. Think of how many times you need hot water for cooking that pasta or boiling those spuds!
How do they work?
There is a variety of hot water taps available on the market. They all do the same thing but the size of the system or how it is to be installed is one of the main factors you should look out for.
The various designs.
Let’s have a look at the Active Powersmart 2 for example. With this machine, what you see is what you get. Its fairly compact and will sit nicely on most worktops. It connects to the mains water supply and keeps the water at around 90˚C. This particular model is able to dispense a total of 5.7 litres before it would need to stop and get the water back to optimum boiling temperature.
So, a fairly straight forward water boiler with decent performance. This design has been around for many years and will be the most popular type of water boiler you’ll see in workplaces and canteens.
The new kiddy on the block!
There is another water boiler that is very much different to the Powersmart 2 and other models with similar functionality and design. It saves a huge amount of space on your worktop, is much more cosmetically pleasing on the eye and is is as shiny as a new pin (we like shiny).
The EZYTAP is a water boiler that enables you to only have the tap showing on your worktop. This means a huge saving in vital worktop space. What it does also mean though is that the rest of it, including the water tank and other components must sit below it in a cupboard or space underneath the worktop. It does also mean a 35mm sized hole needs to be drilled into the worktop to house the tap and drip tray!
If you have the space to store water tank and a few hoses underneath the tap then this really is a worth while investment. There are a few versions of the EZYTAP. The and the EZYTAP 7800.
The EZYTAP 75 provides hot water at a maximum of 98˚C and also provides ambient water (room temperature) at the touch of a button! The EZYTAP 7800 also provides instant hot water at 98˚C but instead also provides refreshing chilled water between 6˚C – 10˚C.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We can’t help but like the EZYTAP water boilers. There is a a bit more work involved in installing these machines but we really think it’s worth the extra bits and bobs involved.
We do supply and install the EZYTAP range of water boilers so if you do want to know more feel free to check them out in our online shop.
