How water technology is saving lives

Technology is advancing quicker than ever. Scientists are accessing such technology to improve the health of human beings with the ultimate goal to eradicate certain bacterias and diseases.

With so many areas of the planet still without proper sanitised water, technology is now being used to assist in providing third world countries with clean water.

Nanotechnology

Research has discovered that the use of nanotechnology can remove certain particles and bacteria from water. The technology is able to use nanoparticles to target the bacteria and therefore reducing contamination. Even better news is that the technology can be used in a low cast way. There is already talk of of nanotechnology being scaled commercially with the hope for it be the standard method of treating contaminated water.

How does nanotechnology world?

With great thanks to the European Food Safety Authority we are able to provide a video that we think gives a clear explanation as to how nanotechnology works. Absolutely fascinating!

We looked online to find a good visual example of how nanotechnology is actually used to sanitised water. Although the videos are fairly old and poor quality we found a 2 part demonstration that is truly mind-blowing! The demonstration shows water taken from a local river, full of dirt, bacteria and goodness knows what else! Nanotechnology, and its uses, is being constantly improved upon. The hope that it is a step in the right direction to solve the shortage of clean water in third world countries is increasing and we find the thought of this very exciting.

It really is very reassuring that technology is being used for such possible breakthroughs. We hope that in our lifetime we get to see the impact it has on the planet.

We hope you enjoyed our short introduction to how water technology is saving lives. We’re going to look into this a bit further and will be posting a more advanced and detailed blog about nanotechnology soon.
